Is Saibene getting FCK back on track?

⚽️ Match: Wiesbaden vs Kaiserslautern
⚽️ Competition: 3. Liga
🔺 Date: 05.10.2020
🔻 Betting Prediction: Both teams to score/ No
🔺 Betting Odds: 2.25
🔻 Stake: 4/10 units

After two defeats and 4-0 goals, 1. FC Kaiserslautern is in 20th place in the current table of the 3rd division. A start that also cost Boris Schommers the job for which Jeff Saibene took over on Friday. In this condition, of all things, the red devils now have to compete with a second division relegated, who is counted among the big promotion favourites.

While FCK finally lost their game in the DFB Cup, SV Wehen is still completely undefeated in the 2020/21 season. More than that: neither in the cup game against 1. FC Heidenheim nor in the two league games against Verl and Viktoria Köln did the kickers from Taunus concede a goal at all. The defence was so far as a one.

Against this background, we think it makes the most sense to play the tip “Both teams to score: No” at Wiesbaden against Kaiserslautern.

Wiesbaden – Statistics & current form

With the exception of two seasons, SV Wehen Wiesbaden played continuously in the third division. In the founding year of the single-track third-highest division of German football, the Hessians were relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga as the bottom of the table.

The kickers from Taunus also relegated last summer. After the promotion in the summer of 2019 in the relegation, three points were also missing in the final table 2019/20 in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Still without conceding a goal in the first three competitive games

The good news was that those responsible were able to inspire Rüdiger Rehm, who has been in charge of the Red-Blacks since February 2017, for the reconstruction mission. If the 41-year-old trainer went into Wehen in a season in the third division, the result was never a worse placement than fourth.

The Hessians are now hoping for something similar again, for which the course has certainly been set. The cup win against Heidenheim was followed by a sobering 0-0 at home against promoted Verl. Last Saturday, however, Wehen won 2-0 away in Cologne. After three games without a defeat, there is still not a single goal conceded.

Without Carstens and Röcker in this home game

However, the victory in the cathedral city also cost the central defender Florian Carstens, who was loaned from St. Pauli, who committed a completely unnecessary open-toed foul shortly before the final whistle. For two games, Rüdiger Rehm has to do without the strong 21-year-old, which is all the more painful because another central defender is missing, Benedikt Röcker.

Nevertheless, the Hessians go into this home game as the clear favourite. Judging by the fact that they are still without conceding a goal, while the guests from Rhineland-Palatinate have not yet been able to net in the 3rd division, the tip “Both teams to score: No” makes the most sense for Wiesbaden against Kaiserslautern.

Kaiserslautern – Statistics & current form

1. FC Kaiserslautern just cannot calm down these days. Headlines about the bad financial situation of the four-time German champions dominated the press practically every day in the preseason. Added to this were the dispute in the management floor and the removal of club icon Gerry Ehrmann.

As if that weren’t enough, the athletic results weren’t right either. The club, which started with ambitions to return to the 2nd Bundesliga, only ended up in tenth place, but ultimately had to open insolvency proceedings.

Despite bankruptcy with large financial resources

Somehow it seemed as if everything was going well for the red devils, who were not punished with a point deduction because of the pandemic, but were even able to use the crisis to their advantage, as the circumstances are currently milder, which means clammy finances at football clubs.

Thanks to the commitment of some major investors, the FCK was even able to get players like Tim Rieder out of the Bundesliga or raise the salary of loan player Marvin Pourié, which meant that the Lauterer started with a very competitive squad in the third division.

With a new coach into the third game day

This catastrophic false start, which also cost Boris Schommers the job early on, is all the more surprising. With Jeff Saibene, a very experienced third division coach is taking over, but he only had one day for training before he left for the Hessian state capital.

➤ Spahic – Hlousek – Sickinger – Kraus – Schade – Bakhat – Ciftci – Ritter – Rieder – Huth – Röser

Wiesbaden vs Kaiserslautern – Direct comparison / H2H balance

Head to head: 3 – 2 – 3

There were eight clashes between the two teams and with three wins each the balance is balanced. Incidentally, both teams played together in the third division in the 2018/19 season. A goalless draw on the Betzenberg was followed by a 2-0 win from Wehen in the last meeting to date.

Wiesbaden vs Kaiserslautern Betting Odds and Predictions

At Wiesbaden against Kaiserslautern, the prediction must also take into account that there was always no goal on either side in the last two duels between the two teams. For this betting recommendation, however, the fact that the SVWW has been incredibly compact and stable defensively since relegation seems much more difficult. Conversely, FCK is the only third division team that still has zero goals on the credit side.

Key facts – Wiesbaden vs Kaiserslautern tips

🔺 Wiesbaden is still without a defeat and without conceding a goal in the young season
🔺 Kaiserslautern arrives at the bottom of the table with zero points and 0: 4 goals
🔺 In the last three competitive games between the two teams, there was a maximum of one goal on one side

We, therefore, recommend placing the goal bet over the tip on a home win for the Wiesbaden team, who on the first day of the match did not go beyond the 0-0 against Verl at home. Saibene’s ambition can only be to bring defensive stability to the team after the 3-0 defeat against Türkgücü. We don’t expect any quantum leaps offensive because of the Pourié suspension.
