Defending champion Algeria sets the course for the Africa Cup of Nations 2022. The desert foxes have already set the course in the qualification group with three victories in a row. With another win in Group H, the Algerian national team can buy the ticket for the big tournament early and thus spare top performers in the last two group games.

On Monday evening, Algeria will start their away trip to Zimbabwe. After the home game against the Zimbabwean group rivals was won last week, triple points are now to be scored abroad.

Zimbabwe – Statistics & Current Form

Zimbabwe wants to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations for the third time in a row. The Warriors got off to a promising start in qualifying, including an away win at Zambia, their direct rival for second place in the group H. As expected, the Zimbabweans suffered their first defeat last week.

Winning points against Algeria would be a bonus

In the away game against the defending champions and group favourites from Algeria, there was nothing for the Zimbabwean national team to win. Especially in the first half, when the Algerian desert foxes played in the best line-up, the Zimbabweans could not set any accents.

The Warriors fired only one shot in the first 45 minutes of play.

Only during the course of the game did national coach Zdravko Logarusic’s team get into the game better, but owed that portion of the game to the large rotation on the part of the home side. The goal in the final phase was then only cosmetic result. At home, Zimbabweans are now building on the latest momentum.

Undefeated in four home games

The last time the Warriors lost a home game was in June 2019. The Zimbabwean national team has now been unbeaten for four home games in a row, three of which were even won. That home series is now to be expanded against the Algerian national team.

The offensive will be the main challenge on Monday evening. In the last week, the Algerian defensive bulwark could not be challenged for long stretches. Musona (22 goals) and Biliat (17 goals) currently lead the Zimbabweans’ internal scorer list.

The probable lineup of Zimbabwe:
➤ Shumba – Lunga, Hadebe, Mudimu, Darikwa – Karuru, Nakamba, Zemura – Musona, Kadewere, Billiat

Algeria – Statistics & current form

The desert foxes march to group victory. Last week, Algeria celebrated their third win in a row in the Africa Cup of Nations qualification group H and is now about to enter the big tournament early. If there are three points against Zimbabwe on Monday evening, the Algerians’ participation in the Africa Cup of Nations 2022 will be sealed mathematically.

Algeria in excellent shape

When it comes to the latest form of the Algerian national team, three points should be bagged in Harare, Zimbabwe. After all, the team around national coach Djamel Belmadi celebrated four wins in the last five international matches. Only in the test match against Mexico did Algeria lose its feathers, although the high-scoring draw against “El Tri” was praiseworthy.

For long stretches of the second half, the Algerian national team played outnumbered, but defied the supposed Mexican favourite and even took the lead. If the Algerians take the latest momentum with them into the next calendar year, defending their title at the Africa Cup of Nations 2022 is by no means absurd.

Is there a rotation in Zimbabwe?

Last week there was a lot of rotation in the game in Algeria. After the comfortable 3-0 lead, head coach Belmadi spared some top performers, including superstar and captain Riyad Mahrez. How the 44-year-old will show his team on Monday evening is not yet foreseeable, but the rotary machine will probably be started again in the course of the game.

The probable lineup of Algeria:
➤ M’Bolhi – Bensebaini, Mandi, Tahrat, Halaimia – Feghouli, Abeid, Bennacer – Brahimi, Bounedjah, Mahrez

Zimbabwe vs Algeria – Direct comparison / H2H balance

Zimbabwe and Algeria will meet for the eighth time on Monday evening. The direct comparison is currently led by the Algerian desert foxes with a score of 3-3-1. The Algerians last lost a game against the Zimbabweans almost 16 years ago. The most recent clash was last week when Algeria beat the Zimbabwean Warriors 3-1 after goals from Mahrez, Feghouli and Bounedjah.

Zimbabwe vs Algeria Betting Odds and Predictions

In order to forego the use of top performers in the next international break, Algeria must win the upcoming match in Zimbabwe. This means that the desert foxes can buy their ticket for the Africa Cup of Nations 2022 ahead of time. So far, the Algerians have won three group games, including their most recent home win against Zimbabwe last week.

“El Khadra” had dominated the match against the Zimbabwean guests for a long time, which is why three points were never really endangered in the game. Should the Algerian national team build on that performance, especially from the first half, and away win on Monday evening is very obvious.
