Serie A tips for the 19th matchday of the 2020/21 season

Serie A tips, 19th matchday, 2020/21 season

The Serie A table shows an unusual picture even before the last first-half match day this coming weekend (22 to 24 January 2021). Not serial champion Juventus Turin, who is aiming for the tenth Scudetto in a row, leads the table, but the two Milanese clubs have already been able to break away a little.

AC Milan is three points ahead of Inter Milan, while there is already a gap behind them. Especially with Juventus, who are already ten points behind Milan, but also have a game to catch up on. The old lady can of course never be written off, while with SSC Napoli, Atalanta Bergamo and AS Roma other clubs still have the top in sight.

AC Milan vs Atalanta Bergamo

AC Milan vs Atalanta Bergamo Betting Odds and Predictions

Although the personnel worries are still enormous, AC Milan has responded strongly to the first real setback during the season. After eleven wins and four draws in the first 15 matchdays, the undefeated aura was lost to Juventus Turin (1: 3). After that, however, the Rossoneri defeated FC Turin twice – in the league 2-0 and in the last 16 of the Coppa Italia a little happy after penalties – and also won 2-0 at Cagliari Calcio on Monday evening.

Both goals in Cagliari were scored by old star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was fit again after a muscle injury and a week-long break, who has already scored twelve goals after eight league games and is, of course, the great hope against Bergamo. All the more because with Alexis Saelemaekers and Alessio Romagnoli (both suspended), Matteo Gabbia and Ismaël Bennacer (both injured) as well as Rade Krunic, Ante Rebic, Theo Hernandez and Hakan Calhanoglu (all COVID-19) eight actors are missing and with Simon Kjaer another regular player is questionable.

Atalanta Bergamo does not have such worries but is also travelling confidently to Milan for other reasons. Because Atalanta has not lost six times in a row at AC Milan and even won two of these duels. The fact that coach Gian Piero Gasperini’s team avoided the (successful) Champions League home games in San Siro last season also makes for a good feeling.

However, it is remarkable that the bookmakers even see Bergamo as a slight favourite, which is certainly closely related to Milan’s less than ideal personnel situation. But we still believe that the points will stay in Milan this time, not least thanks to leader Ibrahimovic.

Juventus Turin vs Bologna FC

Juventus Turin vs Bologna FC Betting Odds and Predictions

Juventus Turin won at AC Milan but suffered a painful 2-0 defeat at Inter Milan last weekend, which initially cost them the connection. To restore this as quickly as possible is, of course, the big goal of the Bianconeri so that only one win counts against FC Bologna. For Cristiano Ronaldo and Co., it is important to build on the convincing start of the new year with four competitive game wins in a row, whereby the task of Bologna should not be taken lightly. The team of coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is only in twelfth place but has just ended a lean period of eight competitive games without a win with a 1-0 win against Hellas Verona.

With five draws in the last seven games, it is easy to see that Bologna is not easy to beat. Accordingly, we expect Juventus, which had significantly less recovery time due to the Supercoppa on Wednesday evening against SSC Napoli, a nut that is not easy to crack. Ultimately, however, we also assume that Juve will not show any nakedness and will win the game not least thanks to the existing individual quality.
