Liverpool-vs-Wolverhampton

Premier League Betting Odds and Predictions (11th matchday)

The Premier League season 2020/21 is already ten game days old – but neither Liverpool nor ManCity say hello from the top! It is Tottenham Hotspur who are currently at the top and want to defend 1st place in the city derby at the weekend: the troubled Arsenal FC is a guest. Meanwhile, Tottenham’s tied pursuers, Liverpool, face Wolverhampton Wanderers and Chelsea FC with traditional club Leeds. Is there something going on at the top?

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal FC

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal FC Betting Odds and Predictions (Sunday )

A draw was enough: Tottenham Hotspur played 0-0 last weekend against Chelsea after an unspectacular 90 minutes. However, as Liverpool made a mistake, Spurs kept the championship lead – and thus their first-class mood.

Before the draw against Chelsea, Spurs had earned first place thanks to seven wins from eight games. In the course of the series, José Mourinho’s team had defeated ManCity (2-0), which outclassed both Manchester clubs in the first half of the season (Tottenham won 6-1 against ManUnited).

Mourinho can definitely be celebrated as the father of success, who, in addition to a tactical corset, gave his team plenty of self-confidence. That is noticeable, especially in the attack: the duo Kane-Son is statistically unequalled, not only in the Premier League. Led by the unerring and wonderfully harmonious team of storms, the Spurs achieved several typical Mourinho victories: safe at the back, efficient at the front.

With Arsenal FC, the second city rival in a row is now waiting – but the significantly weaker one: The Gunners are currently in 14th place and have lost more often (5 times) than won (4) after ten match days. Coach Mikel Arteta, who has now officially started worse than the last three of his sacked predecessors, is under enormous pressure. Even the real constant in the last turbulent Arsenal years, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is currently standing next to him: The Gabonese only scored two goals in the Premier League.

Overall, the team currently has only one point from their last three league games. Ironically, after perhaps the biggest success of the season, the 1-0 win against ManUnited on matchday 7, the form curve fell into the abyss. Most recently, the team lost at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers – for the first time in 41 years (1: 2).

In view of this season’s progress, we expect Tottenham to perform well – but in Mourinho style: not with excessive play, but with defensive dominance and offensive chutzpah. Arsenal currently doesn’t look like a team that could pose a threat to the league leaders.

Betting Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur win and under 3 goals for both teams
Betting Odds: 4.50

Liverpool-vs-Wolverhampton

Liverpool FC vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Betting Odds and Predictions (Sunday)

Liverpool FC is currently Tottenham’s closest pursuer: The reigning champions are currently in 2nd place only because of the poorer goal difference keeps stumbling.

Take the past weekend, for example, A win against Brighton & Hove is actually a must, but Liverpool did not get beyond a (quite performance-based) 1: 1. Tottenham’s mistake (0-0 against Chelsea) could therefore not be exploited. The same applies to the Champions League appearance against Bergamo (0: 2) or the staid draw against ManCity (1: 1).

Nevertheless, we notice here at the highest level: Liverpool has lost three of 17 competitive games. The fact that the first third of the season seems much bumpier than it was is mainly due to the 2: 7 disaster against Aston Villa, which of course burned itself in the minds of fans and writers. With a win against Wolverhampton Wanderers and where possible taking over the championship lead, this impression could be counteracted again.

The Wolves have earned the reputation of scare favourites in recent years because they regularly overperformed the big teams. In the current season, however, this quality has hardly come to fruition: against ManCity (1: 3) and Leicester (0: 1) they lost and against Arsenal (2: 1) they are currently winning half the league.

In any case, the players could hardly be happy after the victory against the Gunners: Top scorer Raul Jimenez remained motionless for minutes after a collision. In the hospital the horror diagnosis: skull fracture. The operation was successful, but it will be a long time before I return to the lawn.

Overall, we consider Liverpool to be favoured and confident enough to take their seventh win in their eleventh league game – and keep the pressure on Spurs high.

Betting Prediction: Victory for Liverpool FC
Betting Odds: 1.50
