At Chelsea, the tree is on fire – and not just because of their recent defeat. Will the team finally crash into the crisis against Tottenham Hotspur? Here is our tip!
Chelsea vs Tottenham Football Betting Tips
Top match at Stamford Bridge! Chelsea will receive the Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night – a derby on explosive days: while Spurs, the third-placed player, has recently lost the top spots, Chelsea will even have to recover from a scandal. The days of the coach could soon be counted – depending on the result on Wednesday evening.
The last three results: 3: 4 vs. Manchester City, 3: 0 vs. Malmö FF, 0: 2 Vs. Manchester United
Just imagine: Chelsea have a memorable final with Manchester City for the League Cup, and a winner can only be determined on penalties – and yet the headlines on the following day are about a supposed trifle: the substitution of goalkeeper Kepa. Or. the non-substitution.
What happened? The Blues keeper seemed to be plagued by seizures at the end of the extension, with Chelsea’s doctors storming the field twice to help. This apparently prompted Coach Sarri to replace his keeper – but it only cost him time. Instead of following his coach’s change request, Kepa was vehemently pointing out his integrity, while the coach on the sidelines feels increasingly deprived of his authority. Some disparaging gestures, a g pepper greased on the floor and an almost-finish Sarris later – and the scandal was born. That the insisting Kepa in the subsequent penalty shoot-through also a tough penalty shot through the fingers fit into the picture.
For Sarri it could not have gone worse on Sunday night. The already counted coach actually saw a solid performance of his team, at least defensively, but ultimately one would have to bow to the English master – and on top of that left the Kepa skirmish doubts about the authority of the coach. Does the team still follow the Italian?
Already in the past weeks one could have doubted, because not only the League Cup final was disappointing for the Blues: Already the two previous appearances on national soil had set the team thoroughly in the sand.
In the FA Cup against Manchester United, for example, the team was offensively harmless, hardly once did Hazard & Co. put the opponent in distress. Conversely, the own back team did not manage to keep United from scoring – and so stood at the end of a deserved 0: 2 bankruptcy.
A few days earlier, the blues were also in Manchester – and pulled out even worse from the affair: It put a catastrophic 0-6 defeat against Manchester City, in which the English champion bluntly exposed the weaknesses of the blues.
Only in the Europa League was Chelsea last in normal form and brought the sixteenth finals against Malmö FF easily behind him. Apart from that, however, one disappointment has followed in the past weeks to the next – which makes Sarris chair shake tremendously. If the blues remain unsuccessful in the next top match, even against Tottenham, you could be numbered the day of the coach.
Possible line-up Chelsea FC
What happens to Kepa? So currently is the most exciting staff question in the blue part of London. To avoid a disciplinary action Coach Sarri can not keep his claim to leadership. In addition to the keeper, more regulars were likely to receive a break from the final night, after all they fought tough for 120 minutes. The following formation seems conceivable for Wednesday:
Caballero – Azpilicueta, Rüdiger, Luiz, Marcos Alonso – Kanté, Barkley, Jorginho – Willian, Giroud, Hazard
The last three results: 1: 2 vs. Burnley 3-0 vs. 3. Borussia Dortmund, 3-1 vs. Leicester City
Even so, you can bring your own euphoria: after the Tottenham Hotspur two weeks ago celebrated an impressive victory against Borussia Dortmund (3-0), followed at the last Premier League match day harsh disillusionment. 1: 2 documents the Spurs in the relegation candidate Burnley – and the question remains: How did this happen?
At half-time break, the favorite had the game under control, 0: 0 it was after the first 45 minutes, which dictated Tottenham with controlled football. In the second half, however, the game picked up speed – and the Spurs slipped the reins: the Clarets ‘first-ever lead could be leveled off thanks to striker Kane’s comeback hit, but the hosts’ 2-1 winner in the closing stages Tottenham had nothing left to oppose.
Due to the unexpected defeat in Burnley, the Spurs not only lost the connection to the top, they also lost any momentum that the previous CL gala had created against Dortmund. In the duel with the Bundesliga leaders, the Spurs had accumulated namely to the top form and made thanks to the 3-0 first leg victory a big step towards the quarter-finals.
Along with the previous wins against Burnley and Newcastle, the Spurs were thus about to start a series, but this choked Burnley now in the bud. Against Chelsea, it is therefore to find back on the road to success, with the team can probably rely on one thing above all: Top striker Kane, who proved his accuracy directly in the first game after several months of injury break. But will he even be on the field?
Possible lineup Tottenham Hotspur
Coach Pocchettino will have to decide whether the recovered Kane is already fit enough for two games in four days. In any case, the team can use its qualities beyond doubt – as well as the usual regulars:
Lloris – Foyth, Vertonghen, Alderweireld – Aurier, Sissoko, Winks, D. Rose – Eriksen – H. Kane, Lucas Moura
Betting Tips and Predictions Chelsea vs Tottenham
If one goes by the odds of the bookmakers, then one can not make out a clear favorite. Although Chelsea enjoy slight advantages, with odds around the 2.40, the hosts should definitely not be classed as an expected winner – with good reason.
Chelsea suffered last week’s defeats against Manchester United (2-0) and ManCity (3-4 and 6-6). Bitter defeats were joined last weekend by a blatant scandal about goalkeeper Kepa, so that the team is no longer far from a serious crisis.
Tottenham, meanwhile, celebrated Champions League victory, which was followed by disillusionment in the league. So as not to collect the next bankruptcy, the Spurs at Stamford Bridge will therefore be defending themselves and avoiding greater risks. Münden is likely to end up in a tough game in which both teams will demonstrate that their strengths are mainly on the defensive.
Betting Prediction: Under 2.5 goals
