Brentford vs Swansea Betting Odds and Predictions

Can Swansea ward off the bee attack?

With seven wins in seven games after the restart, Brentford FC plowed through the English championship. There were many indications that the Bees would actually still jump to one of the first two places, but two unexpected defeats on the past two matchdays let the dream of direct promotion burst. Also in the playoffs, the team of the Danish coach Frank stands with his back to the wall after the semi-final first leg.

Before the second leg on Wednesday evening between Brentford and Swansea, balanced odds will be offered on the “To Qualify” market. In purely technical terms, however, the Welshmen have a better starting position after they narrowly won the first leg at the weekend with 1-0. Since away goals are not used in the English promotion games, a win with one goal difference would be enough for the Londoners to at least force extra time.

Given that the Swans have been unbeaten in the last three championship games and their defensive almost completely knocked out the best offensive in the second English league in the first leg, it seems advisable in our eyes to venture a forecast between Brentford and Swansea, that the white-blacks will not leave the field again as losers.

Brentford – Statistics & current form

Does the Brentford Football Club really throw away the potentially unique chance of getting into the Premier League in the last few meters? After 44 game days, the Bees were third in the championship, just one point behind. Since runner-up West Bromwich Albion was weak and only got one point from the final two games, the Bees would have had two points in two matches to climb to second place.

However, the team of coach Thomas Frank lost both at Stoke City (0: 1) and at home to Barnsley (1: 2) and therefore had to be satisfied with the thankless third place in the final accounts after 46 matches days. It currently seems as if the red-whites have not yet fully coped with this bitter disappointment.

Three losses in a row for the best offensive in the championship

The disappointing appearance of the Londoners in the semi-final first leg in Wales cannot be explained in any other way. The otherwise potent offensive, which scored 80 goals throughout the season and thus had the best value of all second division teams, gave only a meager three shots on goal, had less possession, and was even lucky after a red card half an hour before the end that it was “only” a 0: 1 defeat.

Nevertheless, the starting position before the second leg is anything but comfortable. The “Red and White Army” needs a success by one goal to get into extra time. Any higher victory would be associated with entering the playoff final. Even if the Bees won five times in a row in their own stadium before the aforementioned bankruptcy on the last matchday, the most recent unsettled impression prevails, which makes a bet on the double chance X / 2 appears more likely between Brentford and Swansea.

In terms of personnel, the Danish coach of the West Londoners inevitably has to do without the suspended Henry. Although Brentford appealed against the red card, the Bees will have to do without the talented left-back for the first time this season. Mads Rasmussen would be his potential back-up. No other failures are known.

The probable lineup of Brentford:
➤ Martin; Dalsgaard, Jansson, Pinnock, Rasmussen; Marcondes, Norgaard, Dasilva; Mbeumo, Watkins, Benrahma

Swansea – Statistics & current form

Will Swansea City fans have to mourn the chances of the first leg after the second leg? The fact is that the Welsh team played a good home game and missed a penalty even before the 1-0. Even in the majority (from minute 65) one or two hits would have been possible. So the Swans go into the second leg with the tightest of all starting positions.

In our eyes, the chances of reaching the final for the final spot on the Premier League are good. The reason for this lies especially in the momentum, which is clearly on the side of the white and black. While, as mentioned, the Londoners had to cope with several setbacks, a few weeks ago nobody would have expected that Coach Cooper’s team would even reach the playoffs.

Swansea unbeaten after the restart

Only the four victories on the last six match days brought the Welsh just sixth and thus into the semi-finals against the third of the regular season. Another argument that justifies a forecast of the higher score of guests between Brentford and Swansea is the away record.

In fact, the Cooper team scored as many points abroad as at home. Only four out of 23 matches in opposing stadiums were lost (eight wins, eleven draws). Only the two direct promoters collected more points away than the swans. The last defeat in the distance was at the end of February. After the restart, Swansea remained undefeated in all five guest appearances. Woodman, Wilmot, Rodon, and Byers are definitely out. There is a question mark behind Routledge, Naughton returns to the team after the ban has been served.

The probable lineup of Swansea:
➤ Mulder; Guehi, Hoorn, Cabango; Roberts, Grimes, Fulton, Bidwell; Gallagher; Ayew, Brewster

Brentford vs Swansea Direct comparison

The two clubs have faced each other five times in the past two seasons. In the 2018/2019 season, the Welsh prevailed in both the first and second legs. In 2019/2020, however, it was the Bees that won both matches. In both cases, the Londoners even won by at least two goals, which would be enough to make it to the final after Sunday’s 0-1 defeat.

Key Facts – Brentford vs Swansea tips

🔺 Brentford lost three times in a row
🔺 Swansea has three wins in a row
🔺 Away goals are suspended in the playoffs

We see slight advantages for the Swans, who have brought momentum to their side after three wins in a row. The home side is still mourning the missed opportunity, which is why we are skeptical whether West Londoners can get the curve in time. Statistics are not very meaningful in a “do-or-die” game anyway, so we believe in Coach Cooper’s team.

In the second leg between Brentford and Swansea, we, therefore, choose the bet that Andre Ayew and Co. will again draw at least one.
