The promotion race in the 2nd Bundesliga is extremely exciting and sometimes dramatic. Hamburger SV had already passed VfB Stuttgart on Monday evening, who had surprisingly not got past 0-0 against VfL Osnabrück the day before, before a third goal in the recent five games cost points in stoppage time. Holstein Kiel draw to 3: 3 in the Volksparkstadion and also caused cheers in distant Stuttgart, as VfB was able to maintain its lead of two points over the third-placed HSV.
Arminia Bielefeld has certainly taken note of the equalizer from Kiel. Despite four draws in the last five games, the leader is still seven points ahead of relegation place three and is thus moving ever closer to the Bundesliga. Finally, Hamburg’s mistake also saved 1. The four-way battle for the two promotion places and the relegation is now going into the very hot phase on matchday 31. The same applies to the fight against relegation, which the teams from VfL Osnabrück in 13th place have to fear at the moment.
